If you love the sea, if you have always dreamed of learning to sail or have already started and want to improve your skills while learning Spanish, this activity to learn to sail in Spain, and at the same time improve your language skills – it’s perfect for you. You will enjoy a great sport in perfect weather. Can you ask for more?
What am I going to learn?
The activity can be combined with the Spanish course, in which you will work in a practical way all the areas of the language, with the sailing sessions in which you will develop your skills to handle a boat, direct it, maneuver and understand the fundamentals of this sport. You will learn about meteorology, seamanship, safety at sea, nautical terms, seafaring knots… Learn Spanish and enjoy sailing on the Mediterranean – all in Valencia!
How are we going to do it?
You can enjoy sailing as an additional activity while taking the Intensive Spanish course of your choice.
Sailing is booked separately from your Spanish course. It’s a great way to make the most of your free time, combining your Spanish studies with the experience of sailing on the Mediterranean in Valencia.
What do I need to know about the sailing activity in Valencia?
When is the sailing activity available?
The sailing activity is available during the summer, from June to mid-September.
What schedule will I have?
There will be 2 sessions per week, (depending on the weather) from 10:00 to 13:00 or from 15:30 to 18:30.
What is the minimum age required for the programme?
From the age of 16 years old.
What level do I need to have?
It is not necessary that you already know Spanish or have experience sailing, our sailing activity is designed for all levels, from unexperienced to experienced sailors. The only requirement is that you can swim well.
What is your level of Spanish?
Españolé offers you the most appropriate Spanish program for your level.
A1 – Beginners
Students can deal with simple straightforward exchanges in familiar contexts. They can usually understand enough to keep a very basic conversation going.
A2 – Pre-Intermediate
Students can understand and express information about the present, past and future. They can deal with most situations involved in travelling around a Spanish speaking country, including communicating most personal and everyday information.
B1 – Intermediate
Students can comfortably interact with native speakers. They can participate in discussions and express their viewpoints in familiar contexts. They can describe experiences in their past as well as explain and give reasons for their plans, desires and ambitions for the future.
B2 – Upper-intermediate
Students can express their ideas on general topics clearly in both the spoken and written form. They are familiar with and can competently use more complex structures and have a good level of fluency andbroader vocabulary including some idiomatic expressions.
C1 – Advanced
Students are capable of understanding most lectures, discussions and debates. They are able to develop a well-structured argument with supporting evidence and explanations in oral and written form. Students have broadened their general language capability and vocabulary to feel comfortable operating effectively in social, academic and professional spheres.
C2 – Superior
Students have a high level of written and spoken Spanish They can participate easily in discussions and write well- structured compositions even on complex, unfamiliar situations. They can give clear presentations on complex issues, integrating sub themes and developing particular points.

Sailing is offered as an activity that can be combined with any of our intensive Spanish courses. We recommend pairing it with the Intensive 20 course, but if you are interested in the Spanish Plus electives, you can also choose the Intensive 25 or Intensive 30 courses for a more comprehensive learning experience.
