Spanish and English summer school in Valencia: learning beyond the classroom

23 June 2026

Summer is one of the best times of the year to learn a language abroad. Longer days, sunny weather, cultural events and an international atmosphere create the perfect environment for language immersion.

If you are looking for a Spanish or English summer school that combines high-quality language education, cultural discovery and unforgettable experiences, Valencia offers everything you need.

From Mediterranean beaches and historic streets to interactive Spanish and English lessons and exciting excursions, studying in Valencia becomes a life-changing adventure.

In this guide, you’ll discover what a typical summer experience looks like, why Valencia is one of Spain’s most popular destinations for young learners, and how a Spanish or English summer programme can help your son improve your language skills while enjoying the summer of a lifetime.

Why choose a Spanish summer school in Spain?

Many students study Spanish in their home countries, but learning the language where it is spoken every day creates a completely different experience.

A Spanish summer school allows students to:

  • Practice Spanish in real-life situations
  • Build confidence speaking with native speakers
  • Discover Spanish culture firsthand
  • Meet international students from around the world
  • Develop independence and intercultural skills
  • Learn faster through full immersion

Instead of only learning grammar rules from a textbook, students use Spanish naturally while ordering food, participating in activities, making friends and exploring the city.

Valencia: the perfect summer destination for young language learners

Choosing the right destination is just as important as choosing the right Spanish summer school. Valencia combines everything students and parents look for in a summer programme: safety, sunshine, culture, beaches and a welcoming international atmosphere.

  • Mediterranean summer lifestyle. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, Valencia is the perfect place for students to enjoy an active and outdoor summer. Beach afternoons, bike rides, outdoor sports, cultural visits and evenings with international friends become part of everyday life, creating countless opportunities to practise Spanish naturally beyond the classroom.
  • A safe and student-friendly environment. Valencia is known for being one of Spain’s safest and most welcoming cities. Its manageable size, excellent public transport and relaxed atmosphere make it easy for young international students to feel comfortable, independent and supported throughout their stay.
  • Culture, beaches and authentic Spanish experiences. A summer in Valencia is much more than learning a language. Students can explore the historic old town, visit the City of Arts and Sciences, enjoy Mediterranean beaches, discover local traditions and taste authentic Valencian cuisine, including the world-famous paella. Every day offers new opportunities to experience Spanish culture firsthand.
  • An international summer community. During the summer months, Valencia welcomes students from all over the world. Summer camps, language programmes and cultural activities create an international environment where young learners can make friends, exchange cultures and practise Spanish in real-life situations every day.
  • The perfect setting for learning and adventure. Valencia combines the excitement of a vibrant European city with the relaxed atmosphere of a Mediterranean destination. Whether participating in excursions, beach activities, cultural workshops or social events, students enjoy a balanced experience that combines education, personal growth and unforgettable summer memories.

  • A student residence with other international participants.

Both options include full board, supervision, and support throughout the stay.

How much supervision do students receive?

The level of supervision depends on the programme:

  • Summer Camp (13–15 years): close supervision and structured schedules.
  • Summer Getaway (16–19 years): supervised environment with greater independence.
  • Day Programme: supervision during classes and organised activities only.

What should students bring to summer school?

We recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable clothing
  • Swimwear and beach essentials
  • Sports shoes
  • Sun protection
  • A reusable water bottle
  • Personal medication (if required)
  • Spending money for optional purchases

How long can students stay?

Students can join for one week or multiple weeks throughout the summer. Many participants choose longer stays to maximise their language progress and fully enjoy the experience.

I was nervous about travelling abroad on my own. After just a few days, I felt completely at home. My Spanish improved much faster than I expected, and the activities made every day different. It was easily the best summer I’ve ever had! – Oliver from United Kingdom
